The combined value of UK tech companies has hit £540 billion.
Yet, 4 out of 10 tech companies admit that they are having serious issues when it comes to attracting and retaining key talent.
So how is it that a booming industry with so much growth is struggling to keep up with its own success?
The answer may lie with its lack of diversity.
This is a story of untapped potential.
Did you know that only 21% of employees in the UK tech workforce are women? And only 16% is made up of minority ethnic employees. On top of that, of the 19% of the disabled UK working population, only 9% of IT specialists identify as having a disability.
While these numbers are better than the historical averages, it’s still nowhere near good enough. And because of this, tech companies are missing out on the huge number of advantages that come with having an inclusive and diverse workforce.
So with an industry that is so clearly struggling to find talent, why is this still an issue?
